Less weight, same strength — validated before manufacturing

Many projects lose time and budget when design, simulation and manufacturing are treated as separate phases. Our process connects them from the first concept — so the part coming out of simulation is the same part that can be manufactured, validated and delivered without surprises. We mainly work with companies, technical teams and manufacturers that need lightweight, measurable and manufacturable components for real applications.

01 — Our approach

Design, simulation and manufacturing under the same technical logic

Before investing in production, the concept is analysed from a structural, functional and manufacturing perspective. Design, simulation and manufacturing process move together from the beginning.

Many technical developments become complicated when design, simulation and manufacturing are treated as separate phases. A geometry may look correct in CAE while still being difficult to manufacture, expensive to produce or insufficient under real operating conditions.

At Cortez Engineering, every geometry decision is evaluated considering strength, stiffness, weight, manufacturability and cost. FEM simulation, topology optimization and DfAM criteria are integrated from the first development stages, not as a final check.

The result is lighter, verifiable and manufacturing-ready components, with technical decisions documented from the start. This methodology comes from experience in chassis component and structural development for hypercar, motorsport and premium OEM environments in Stuttgart. About us →

A simulation only creates value when it helps make better design and manufacturing decisions. Every project is developed with that principle.

02

We define scope, timeline and price

We agree on the technical approach, deliverables, required validation level and project cost before starting.

03

We design, simulate and optimize

We develop the CAD, perform FEM and optimize the geometry until strength, stiffness, weight and manufacturability requirements are met.

04

We prepare manufacturing

We deliver final geometry, technical documentation and files prepared for production, prototyping or supplier review.

05

Technical support

We support you during manufacturing, review or validation to resolve technical questions and adjust the design if needed.

Real components, measurable results

A selection of developments applied to structural components, additive manufacturing, composites and high-performance systems. Each case starts from a clear objective: reduce weight, improve stiffness or prepare the part for real manufacturing.

06 — Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions before starting a project

If you do not find your answer here, contact us and we will respond in less than 24h.

How much does an FEM analysis or engineering project cost?

It depends on the scope, technical complexity and timeline. Each project is quoted individually after the free initial consultation.

We usually work with a fixed project budget, so you have visibility of the scope, deliverables and cost before starting.

Do you work under NDA and confidentiality?

Yes. For sensitive technical projects, we can sign an NDA before any exchange of information. Project documentation, references and files are treated confidentially.

How long does an FEM analysis or complete component development take?

Indicative timelines by project type:

FEM study or quick validation: 1–2 weeks.
Topology optimization of one part: 2–4 weeks.
Complete component development: 4–10 weeks depending on complexity, including design, FEM, DfAM, documentation and manufacturing preparation.

The exact timeline is confirmed in the proposal after the initial consultation.

Do you work only in Germany or also with international clients?

We are based in Stuttgart, Germany, and work with clients across Europe. Design engineering and simulation work can be carried out remotely through CAD exchange, reports and digital documentation.

For technical visits, validations or in-person meetings, we travel when the project requires it.

Which materials do you work with — metal AM, CFRP and composites?

We work on the design and preparation of components for metal AM, composites and technical polymers.

Metal additive manufacturing: AlSi10Mg, A357, Ti6Al4V, Inconel and technical steels, depending on process and supplier.

Composites: CFRP, glass fiber and sandwich structures.

Technical polymers: PA-CF, PETG, PEEK, PLA and other materials for prototypes, tooling and functional parts.

Do you only provide engineering and simulation, or also manage manufacturing?

Our main focus is engineering, advanced design and technical validation. If the project requires metal additive manufacturing, we can coordinate production with specialized European SLM/LPBF partners, depending on material, tolerances and volume.

For composites, we can support the design, technical definition, layup and component preparation depending on the project scope.

For polymer 3D printing, we offer a direct service through our 3D calculator.

Do you have experience in high-level automotive projects?

Yes. Cortez Engineering’s experience comes from the development of chassis components, structures and technical parts for high-performance automotive, motorsport and premium OEM environments in Stuttgart.
