About us

About us

Lightweight design, simulation and manufacturing for high-performance components

At Cortez Engineering, we develop technical components where weight, strength, stiffness and manufacturability matter from the very first design decision.

We combine advanced CAD design, FEM simulation, structural optimization, composites and additive manufacturing to create functional, manufacturable components ready for real applications.

01 — Team

Specialized engineering, direct communication and a very particular office companion

Behind every project there are technical decisions, development experience and a close way of working. And yes, there is also Ares, our specialist in strategic breaks.

Ares Cortez

Specialist in strategic breaks

He does not run FEM simulations, review technical drawings or approve designs yet.

But he has a key role at Cortez Engineering: detecting when we have spent too much time looking at the same component. A walk, a short break and often the solution becomes much clearer.

02 — Technical capabilities

Engineering, simulation and manufacturing focused on performance

We apply advanced CAD design, FEM simulation, structural optimization, additive manufacturing, composites and reverse engineering to develop functional, lightweight components ready for real manufacturing.

FEM structural simulation

Validation of stresses, deformations, stiffness and critical areas through finite element analysis to improve the safety and performance of each component.

Lightweight design

Weight reduction while maintaining strength, stiffness and functionality. We design components where every gram and every material zone has a clear purpose.

Topology optimization

Intelligent material redistribution based on loads, fixing points and technical objectives. Less weight, better material efficiency and higher structural performance.

Design for additive manufacturing

Development of components prepared for technical 3D printing, advanced polymers and metal additive manufacturing using processes such as SLM and LPBF.

Carbon fiber and composites

Development of lightweight components, molds, tooling and carbon fiber composite solutions for technical and high-performance applications.

Reverse engineering

3D scanning, CAD reconstruction and improvement of existing parts. We turn physical components into digital models ready for redesign, validation and manufacturing.

02 — Our philosophy

Advanced manufacturing with engineering judgment

3D printing and composite materials make it possible to create components that were previously difficult, expensive or impossible to manufacture. But the real value is not only in the technology; it is in knowing how to design correctly for it.

01 · We do not copy conventional parts

An advanced component must take advantage of the process.

A component designed for additive manufacturing or composites must use the process intelligently. We redesign geometries, reinforcements, thicknesses and material distribution so the part makes technical and manufacturing sense.

02 · Less weight, more function

Every material zone must justify its presence.

We aim to reduce mass without losing stiffness, strength or reliability. Every material zone must transmit loads, reinforce a critical area or improve the behavior of the component.

03 · 3D printing and composites when they provide an advantage

Not everything should be 3D printed. Not everything should be carbon fiber.

We choose additive manufacturing, technical polymers, metal, composites or machining depending on the application, cost, function and expected performance.

Let’s evaluate your component or technical idea

Do you have a component that needs to reduce weight without losing performance?

Lighter, stiffer, stronger or better prepared for manufacturing. Tell us what you need to develop and we will give you a clear technical assessment.
